Welcome to Day 9 of my September Sweet Treats Giveaway! Today our featured Trinity Lakes Romance book is Tangled Up in Love by Carolyn Miller. Carolyn has kindly offered a BONUS GIVEAWAY connected to her posts (see below for how to enter the Grand Prize and Carolyn’s Bonus Giveaway).
Let’s talk about sweet treats we can indulge in while reading Tangled Up in Love.
Today we’re visiting with Ellie and Jasper and returning to Joe’s Diner. In our Day 5 post featuring Jackson and Lexi, we discovered the Trinity burger is the best burger in town. Ellie likes to order a Trinity burger with onion rings and a raspberry float.
For our sweet treat today, we can follow Ellie’s lead and add onion rings and a raspberry float to our order. Or, would you prefer a side of fries, or something else? Would you order a raspberry float or swap it for a different drink?
Here’s the book description for Ellie and Jasper’s romance story in TANGLED UP IN LOVE:
One kiss didn’t mean much. One kiss could mean everything.
When Ellie Reilly returns from a dream overseas trip, a too-long hug from her best friend Jasper Cohen clues her in that his feelings might be more than what she suspected. He’s unsure about pushing their friendship further, and doubly uncertain when her European friend, Sebastian, seeks her out in Trinity Lakes.
Uncertainty is something Ellie knows all too well. Since returning from her vacation, Ellie feels like she doesn’t fit at her family’s ranch or in small town life. When she is asked to take on responsibility for reopening Trinity Lakes’ historical museum – a dream she’s always wanted – she can’t help but wonder if settling for life in the familiar is all that God has for her, or can she dare trust Him for more?
Can these two best friends push past mistakes and insecurities and find a future together?
A friends-to-more, small town contemporary Christian romance. Visit Trinity Lakes and meet the fun and quirky characters who value family, faith, and happily-ever-afters.
Trinity Lakes Romance series can be read as standalone Christian contemporary romances. For a richer reading experience, and the opportunity to learn more about the characters who appear in multiple books, I’d recommend reading the series in order. The ebooks are available for your reading pleasure in Kindle Unlimited.

I have never had a float of any kind. I think we call them spiders here and have seen people with them but not sure how I feel about icecream and soda. Glad it isn’t a root beer float I tried to like it (I like the candy) but just couldn’t. I would have the raspberry soda without the icecream. and I am not a fan of onions so would have fries. If I was to try a float I think I would have fanta or orange soda.
Hi Jenny, yes, we call them spiders here. It’s a treat I used to get for my kids when they were younger from Maccas and Hungry Jacks. I like most of the flavour combos and orange/fanta is good. I’d also choose fries over onion rings. 😊
I’ve never tried raspberry float! So I would definitely order it!
Hi Natalya, A raspberry float works for me. 😊
Yay! Raspberry float for the win!
I’d add fries and a ginger beer.
Mary P Australia
Hi Mary, That sounds good. 😊
Ooh, I’m the only one in my family who doesn’t like ginger beer. So you enjoy that, and I’ll go something sweeter 🙂
I would try a raspberry float with a Bessinger’s Onion Ring. They are huge onion rings with a batter an inch thick almost like a bread. Someone told me they use pancake batter. It’s a popular side dish in the south United States. And I do love me some Carolyn Miller. She has to be one of my favorite authors. Audrey S. USA
Hi Audrey, I haven’t heard of Bessinger’s Onion Rings and they sound really good with a pancake batter. I have a list of Southern USA food that I’d like to try. 😊
Mmm, onion rings. That sounds yum!
I would add the onion rings and probably drink something lighter than a float because the burger and rings would fill me up. If I have a float, I want to enjoy it without being full already.
Carolyn F. USA
Hi Carolyn, A float can work as dessert. 😊
Good point. Maybe allow the main to settle, then enjoy the float a little later 🙂
I love onion rings and French fries. I think I would stay with the onion rings. I would order iced tea to drink. Debra P. USA.
Hi Debra, That sounds good. 😊
Ooh, I need to be careful when I have iced tea so o don’t stay up too late!
Yes I would have the onion rings and a raspberry float! SARAH T. USA
Hi Sarah, That sounds good. 😊
Yay! Yum!
My favourite as a kid was lemon squash spiders. The lemon with tea vanila icecream. I could go for hours. In my mind nothing can top that so I don’t know. Madi S. Australia
Hi Madi, I don’t think I’ve tried a lemon squash spider but it sounds really good! 😊
Ooh, Madison, that sounds delicious! I’m going to have to try it.
I would order fries instead as I am not fond of onion rings. Then I think a nice milk shake. Debby USA
Hi Debra, Fries and a milk shake would work for me! 😊
I would have fries and a milkshake. I love onion rings, but I love fries more.
Amelia S. USA
Hi Amelia, yes, I like onion rings, too, but I could be persuaded to trade them for fries. 😊
I’d choose a side of fries, but I’ll try the raspberry float. I’ve never had one before, and it sounds good!
Elizabeth L., USA
Hi Elizabeth, The raspberry floats are good! 😊
I’m willing to try ANY of those! 😁 (or all!)
Ooh, and I love the friends-to-more trope. 😍🥰 (Jaye C. Aus)
Hi Jaye, Why not, let’s try them all! 😊
Yay Jaye!! I’m with you – everything for the win!
Ooh I love onion rings… skip the float and go for a milkshake instead! 🙂
Hi Colleen, Onion rings and a milkshake would work for me. 😊
I’d add fries and I’d try the raspberry float, I’ve never had one.
Cindi K
USA
Hi Cindi, The raspberry float is definitely worth trying. 😊
I have never heard of a raspberry float, but I’d try it. I love raspberry! Otherwise I’m a water only girl… well I love hot tea & hot chocolate too, but not with a burger! I love onion rings, but my go to (that is so love) is Sweet Potato Fries. 😋
Hi Barbara, The raspberry floats are good, and I’m also a fan of sweet potato fries. 😊
Ooh, yes! I like to think that sweet potato fries are healthier – that way I can eat more 😉
I would definitely choose onion rings instead of fries to go with my burger. I don’t have them very often, but I love them, especially when they’re nice and crispy! I’ve never had a raspberry float, but would be willing to try it. I do love a good root beer float!
Hi Patty, There’s a fast food chain where I won’t order onion rings because they aren’t crispy enough. Raspberry floats are good! 😊
I think I already commented, but forgot to include my name and where I’m from!
Patty R.

Thank you 😊
same order

That works 😊
I think I might have a side of fries instead. I have never had a raspberry float. I would order that as well because it sounds good! -Kai B., USA
Hi Kai, yes, definitely try the raspberry float! 😊
I like root beer floats and I enjoy onion rings. Judith M. United States
Hi Judith, That sounds good. 😊
I would order fries over onion rings. I’ve never had a raspberry float, but I have had a root beer float! I would order a chocolate milkshake though! If I had the option to make it a peanut butter/chocolate shake, I would!!
Katie R. USA
Fries and a root beer float. Bridgette S. USA.
I’d order the onion rings for sure, and I’ve never had a raspberry float so I’ve got to try it!
Heidi R.
USA
I think I would order some onion rings and a chocolate milkshake, although the raspberry float sounds interesting. Stephanie H. USA
Onion rings sound great but with a root beer float. Cherie J-USA
I would have onion rings and a raspberry float, but I can’t do dairy, so I wonder if it could be made with raspberry sorbet? I’m not sure how that would taste, since I have never had raspberry soda, but I would be willing to try it.
Tia P. USA
I would have fried because onion rings don’t agree with me anymore. I’ve never had a raspberry float but I’d try it, otherwise it would be an orange or coke float.
