Welcome to Day 10 of my September Sweet Treats Giveaway! Today our featured Trinity Lakes Romance book is In Truth and Love by Jenny Glazebrook. Jenny has kindly offered a BONUS GIVEAWAY connected to her posts (see below for how to enter the Grand Prize and Jenny’s Bonus Giveaway).
Let’s talk about sweet treats we can indulge in while reading In Truth And Love.
Today we’re visiting with Brandon and Jodie. In our Day 6 post featuring Josh and Hallie, we discovered that Brandon likes visiting his cousin Becky’s coffee cart and seeing what he can get for free from his cousin. Brandon and Jodie also like chocolate chip cookies. Jodie knows her brother, Josh, keeps a stash of chocolate chip cookies hidden away somewhere…
For our sweet treat today, we’re going on a hunt to find a secret cookie stash. Have you hidden cookies or other treats in your home? If yes, where’s the best hiding spot? Would you join Jodie in searching for hidden cookies, or would you choose a different treat?
Here’s the book description for Brandon and Jodie’s romance story IN TRUTH AND LOVE:
She wants to leave before she gets hurt again. But what if it’s too late?
Jodie Ladan is tired of goodbyes. People have come and gone her whole life, and this time she refuses to be the one left behind. It’s time to take control, move to New York, and live out her dream of being a journalist. She’s already been accepted into NYU and her plans are coming together.
Brandon Taylor’s life is unraveling before his eyes. His mother is dying, he has seriously wounded a friend, and to add insult to injury, a distant relative is trying to have his father’s house demolished.
Can anything else go wrong? Or can God use what others have meant for harm, for good?
Brandon and Jodie discover that when they speak the truth in love, God gives them every weapon they need to demolish the strongholds of the enemy.
Trinity Lakes is about to witness a battle for truth that only God can win.

I have 3 children so I have been known to hide sweets. Usually I hide them in the empty washing machine or in the file cabinet where we have all our family paperwork. My husband is the one I really have to hide the sweets from. I am asking for the Trinity Lake books for the holidays as a present. I just want to read them all…in order. Audrey S. USA
Hi Audrey, The washing machine is a clever hiding place! I’ve used saucepans in the kitchen cupboards. What a lovely idea to receive the whole Trinity Lakes series as a gift for your holiday reading. I’m a big fan of binge reading series and wish I had more time to indulge in reading binges. 😊
I love the washing machine idea, but I suspect I’d forget where I put them : ) I hope you love the series!
The last dessert I hid (from my dad and brother), I put on a back shelf in the pantry tucked behind some other items. My brother looked for the brownies but never did find them! 😀
Elizabeth L., USA
Hi Elizabeth, Well done on keeping the brownies hidden in the pantry. Since I’m the shortest in my family, there’s nowhere in the pantry that’s safe to hide anything, lol. 😊
Great idea! And clearly it worked : )
I find the vegetable crisper is the best place to hide treats. Never had to hide cookies though.
Mary P Australia
Hi Mary, The vegetable crisper in my fridge might work to hide treats. 😊
Ooh, I hadn’t thought of that. The perfect hiding place!
I used to hide sweets in the freezer but that has been discovered by my husband. The kids are grown so I don’t worry about hiding them anymore. I would be in in the cookie search.
Carolyn F. USA
Hi Carolyn, I bury things like my favourite ice cream deep in our chest freezer. I’m currently emptying the freezer in preparation for defrosting it and finding treats I’d forgotten I’d hidden, lol. 😊
Great idea. It wouldn’t work for me though, because my husband prefers his chocolate frozen and he’s very tall, so he’d pretty quickly see whatever else was in there.
I always put my sweet treats on the pantry shelf and yes I would go on the cookie search Have a Blessed weekend SARAH T. USA
Hi Sarah, The pantry shelf isn’t a good option for me, unfortunately. A cookie search would be fun. 😊
Hi Sarah, I’d join the cookie search too : ) Especially if they had dark chocolate in them.
I do hide treats only problem is I am hiding them from myself and often still eat them. I did however find a packet of magical Elves on my birthday in a small cupboard under the microwave. I would go hunting for white yoyo cookies. I loved this book.
Hi Jenny, I will forget where I hide things and someone in family will usually make a surprise discovery, lol. I’m glad you made that accidental find for your birthday. 😊
I didn’t know what yoyo cookies were, so I just Googled them. Think I might have to bake some! They look and sound delicious.
And I’m so glad you loved this book. I appreciate you and the input you had.
Cookies are the best. I do not have to hide them as they are gluten free and no one else wants them.
Hi Debra, I like home made gluten free choc chip cookies. 😊
That works well! Always good if you’re the only one in the family who likes something so it doesn’t disappear so fast. With a husband and 4 children, treats don’t last long in our house.
DEbby USA
I hide any sweet treats in the chest freezer or my closet.
Amelia S. USA
Hi Amelia, They are great hiding place options that I will use. 😊
The closet is a good idea! Except my cats have learned how to open the doors and get in. It would be okay if it’s not something they might be interested in eating.
When I had kids at home, I hid chocolate in my sock drawer! 🤣🤣🤣 I don’t hide much these days as I keep a bit of dark chocolate for a treat and my husband isn’t a fan. Also I keep keep my chocolate in the freezer and he rarely goes in there. 😉
I love cookies! I’d search for them anytime!
Hi Barbara, The sock drawer is a good hiding place. I have better self control with dark chocolate than I do with milk or white chocolate. It’s less moreish and I call it the healthy chocolate, lol. 😊
I laughed at the thought of hiding chocolate in the sock drawer. Does it get very warm where you are? I could see it being a problem in my house because of how warm it gets. I might end up with brown socks : )
If I bake something for a special occasion, I can’t leave it out on the counter, or it will be gone! I will also hide candy or at least tuck it out of site in the pantry if I hope to see any more of it.
Patty R.
USA
Hi Patty, I can relate to not leaving food out on the counter. My problem is my cat who will eat anything that’s left out. We rinse all our dishes in the kitchen before bedtime to stop our feline from having a midnight feast, lol. 😊
I understand how quickly food can disappear! If it’s for a special occasion I hide it in my room in a shopping bag (so long as it doesn’t need to be refrigerated).
We have putt cookies in the oven. I have also froze cookies. There is only my husband and I so we really do not need to hide cookies. God bless you. Debra P. USA.
Hi Debra, I wish cookies would last long enough in our house to make it to the freezer. 😊
That’s a blessing not to need to hide them : ) Thank you for commenting, Debra.
No hiding them, but I made M&M cookies… yummy!
Hi Colleen, M&M cookies are delicious. 😊
I might have to try M&M cookies. They sound good! My husband is very good at baking cookies and makes many variations, but he hasn’t cooked M&M ones yet.
I try to hide things in the freezer..but they don’t always stay that way! I think a cookie hunt would be fun. If those cookies were brownies..that would be even better! -Kai B., USA
Hi Kai, yes, I have a weakness for brownies, too. 😊
I and my family enjoy Brownies too. We now have a recipe for dairy free brownies because my son can no longer have dairy, and they taste just good as the ones we used to make!
Yes! lol I have four kiddos who are snooping around constantly for something yummy.
Natalya L. USA
Natalya, I totally relate to that!
I have a shelf in my wardrobe where I keep my treats. I also have a spot for stuff I buy for gifts.
I keep gifts in my wardrobe too, and sometimes that includes treats, so long as they’re wrapped and the cats can’t get to them : )
No, I don’t think hiding treats works very well for me. But I have to say I love chocolate chip cookies. There are also a few slices I make that I stored in the freezer which is so nice in hot weather. Madi S. Aus
Hi Madi, The freezer is helpful for storing food during summer. 😊
I have a top shelf in my pantry that my little boys can’t reach that I put my snacks on. Yes, cookies are yummy!
Katie R. USA
Yes, for chocolate chip cookies. Bridgette S. USA.
That’s so funny! I’m usually safe if I hide my secret stash in the tupperware cabinet 😀
Heidi R.
USA
Yes, I have hidden sweets in our home. Cookies are one of my favorite desserts. Stephanie H. USA
I have frozen treats that I don’t want to be immediately consumed by my family. I love a chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven or fudgy brownies. Cherie J-USA
I have a little chocolate stash kind of hidden but if anyone asks, I share. I have some snacks in my room but it’s more to keep out of sight out of mind for my dad because he has allergies to gluten but will eat it if it’s there like cookies, so my daughters get it from my room. His allergies aren’t life threatening.
