Welcome to Day 14 of my September Sweet Treats Giveaway! Today our featured Trinity Lakes Romance book is Only You Can Love Me by Carolyn Miller that’s on preorder and releasing in 2025. Carolyn has kindly offered a BONUS GIVEAWAY connected to her posts (see below for how to enter the Grand Prize and Carolyn’s Bonus Giveaway).
Let’s talk about sweet treats we can indulge in while reading Only You Can Love Me.
Today we’re visiting with Cooper and Jess. Cooper is Jackson and Ellie’s brother, and their mother likes visiting the Bellbird Cafe. A sneak peek from the story: Cooper takes his mother to the Bellbird Cafe and they enjoy scones and other pastries with pots of hot English breakfast tea.
For our sweet treat today, we can visit the Bellbird Cafe and choose what we’d like from the cafe menu. Would you follow Cooper’s lead and order scones and pastries with hot English breakfast tea, or something else?
Here’s the book description for Jess and Cooper’s romance story in ONLY YOU CAN LOVE ME:
Wanted: someone hardworking, honest, humble, with a sense of humor, who can appreciate the simple things in life. Who loves God, loves family, and loves animals. Genuine seekers only.
Dr. Jess Martin–Doc Martin to her local community–might be used to solving the veterinary problems of rural south east Washington, but she can’t solve the problems of her lonely heart. When a dating app specializing in rural connections comes her way she figures she’s got nothing left to lose. Especially when she’s already lost the only guy who had touched her heart, who has made it clear his future lies in Silicon Valley and not in Trinity Lakes. It’s time to let go of the past, once and for all.
Cooper Reilly never pictured himself as finding his future or contentment on a ranch. His heart has always hankered for the finer things of life. But when a corporate reshuffle sees him kicked to the kerb, he finds himself right back where he started. And right back to trying to convince a certain pretty vet to give him a second chance. But she’s not playing, convinced she’s found her Dream Match already. But there’s something she doesn’t know…
Can these two friends look past previous mistakes and find a future? And what does a hunky fireman have to say about a perfect Dream Match?
Visit Trinity Lakes and meet the fun and quirky characters who value family, faith, and happily-ever-afters.
Trinity Lakes Romance series can be read as standalone Christian contemporary romances. For a richer reading experience, and the opportunity to learn more about the characters who appear in multiple books, I’d recommend reading the series in order. The ebooks are available for your reading pleasure in Kindle Unlimited.

Scones and tea sounds good to me.
Mary P AUSTRALIA
Hi Mary, yes, add jam, fresh cream and I’m happy. 😊
Scones and tea for the win!
Scones and Coffee sounds good to me! SARAH T. USA
Hi Sarah, yes, I usually have tea with scones but I wouldn’t say no to coffee. I like adding fresh cream to my coffee. 😊
I would love a scone with some hot tea. Having high tea is on my bucket list. All the pastries I have seen in photos.
I have already professed my love of Carolyn Miller books. I am steady working on trying to get the entire Trinity Lakes Romance series.
Hi Audrey, I love high tea! So good. There are more Trinity Lakes Romance stories in the pipe line (including from me) because we love the Trinity Lakes story world. 😊
Oh, yay Audrey! I hope you get your high tea soon 🙂
I’ll order sweets with Vanilla Latte 🙂
Natalya L. USA
Hi Natalya, yes, I never say no to lattes. 😊
Hi Natalya! Yes, a vanilla latte is delicious too.
I have never had a scone that I know of but would be willing to try one. I would prefer juice or milk to drink. I am not much of a hot tea drinker.
Carolyn F. USA
Hi Carolyn, The English scones served in Devonshire teas are usually cut in half and topped with jam and fresh cream, or butter with jam. I hope you’ll have a chance to try one. 😊
I have been really enjoying pumpkin and date scones recently, and while I’m not a huge tea person, they do pair quite well with a chai.
Madi S. Australia
Hi Madi, I haven’t had pumpkin or date scones in ages. So good and they definitely pair well with a chai. 😊
Ooh, yum! I enjoy pumpkin, date and cheese scones (as separate types, not all mixed together!).
I love scones, and I do like tea, especially chai or a London fog.
Hi Nicole, That does sound good. I’d like to try a London fog, too. I looked it up and discovered it’s an Earl Grey Tea Latte. 😊
I would do the breakfast tea for sure. I would need a GF scone. Debby USA
Late to party I would go red velvet or vanilla cupcake and American lemonade. Love cover
I’m glad you like the cover! And yes, red velvet is a delicious flavour, isn’t it?
i was using the phone to type hence the short sentence. Yes its very yummy.
I’ll stick with the scones and pastries, but I’ll switch the tea for milk. Much to my mother’s chagrin, I’ve yet to enjoy the taste of tea. 🙂
I would have orange juice (with lots of pulp) and a cinnamon roll.
Amelia S. USA
Ooh, I’m definitely an orange pulp in my orange juice gal, too!
An apple cinnamon danish is what I would order… with an orange and cranberry juice.
I enjoyed an apple danish today – yum!
Scones and pastries sound wonderful. I have never had English tea. I normally drink iced tea. I would be willing to give it a try. Debra P. USA.
I hope you get the chance to enjoy hot English tea soon. I think it’s the perfect accompaniment to scones 🙂
I would definitely want scones and pastries with tea, it sounds so good.
Cindi K. USA
Definitely a match made in heaven!
I do love a good scone and English Breakfast tea is the only variety other than Chai that I like some dairy added to.
Yep, English breakfast for the win!
I would order a coffee with some type of pastry!
Katie R. USA
I don’t drink a lot of hot tea, except when I’m not feeling well. But I do enjoy it. And I always love a good scone.
Patty R., USA
Maybe a pastry, and tea. Bridgette S. USA.
Scones and hot tea for sure! I love them both! A local place makes scones and my favorites are a cranberry orange scone. Sooo good! I also love a savory scone. I make a bacon and cheese scone for us during the Christmas holiday. Yummy! And I can drink hot tea anytime! Especially Chai. My mom introduced me to hot tea when I was a little girl and it took a fierce hold! LOL! My son loves it too and when he was in high school (we homeschooled) and college, we had tea and biscuits (not American biscuits which are a tiny bit like scones) every Friday morning. It was our special time. He is grown and married with a family.. lives 2 hours away, but we still have biscuits and tea a couple of times a year. And for Mother’s Day, he took me to a tea tasting at a tea plantation. It was so fun!
I love a good scone but I do have to try some proper English tea. I know it would go great together, especially this time of year!
Pastries with a fruity herbal tea or hot cocoa for me!
Heidi R.
USA
Scones for me with hot English tea (Earl Grey). Stephanie H. USA
Tea and scones sound delicious, especially lemon or blueberry scones. I’ve had some good orange-cranberry ones too. And English Breakfast tea is always good, but I love Bigelow’s French Vanilla Black Pekoe and Vanilla Caramel teas. They are so good!
Tia P. USA
Scones and pastries with a pot of tea sounds wonderful. The tearoom here has a tea called Angels’ Dream that I love with scones and tea sandwiches. So yummy! Cherie J -USA
Yes, I would love to enjoy some scones and pastries with a cup of English breakfast tea! -Kai B., USA
I think I would have a cheese or raspberry danish and milk.
Joannie S., U.S.A.
