Welcome to Day 4 of my September Sweet Treats Giveaway! Today our featured Trinity Lakes Romance book is Always By My Side by Iola Goulton. Iola has kindly offered a BONUS GIVEAWAY connected to her posts (see below for how to enter the Grand Prize and Iola’s Bonus Giveaway).
Let’s talk about sweet treats we can indulge in while reading Always By My Side.
Today we’re visiting with Tabby and Logan. Tabby runs her family’s inn near the lake and she also works at Hannah’s rowing club. Tabby’s always cooking for everyone else, and Logan wants to take Tabby out for dinner.
For our sweet treat today, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner with Tabby and Logan of baked salmon with a parmesan crust, served on parmesan risotto, with a side of new season asparagus, green beans, and broccolini. We’ll have sparkling apple juice with our meal. Does salmon appeal to you? Would you choose another beverage or ask the chef for something different?
Here’s the book description for Tabby and Logan’s romance story in ALWAYS BY MY SIDE:
A hardworking introvert meets a handsome adventurer longing to settle down.
Tabitha Thomas longs to leave Trinity Lakes and travel the world in honor of the beloved grandmother who raised her and her siblings. But she’s needed at home—she’s the responsible triplet, the one who stayed home to run the family inn while her brother and sister left to live their dreams.
Kiwi Logan Wylde doesn’t call any place home. When an injury frustrates his travel plans, he accepts an invitation to return to Trinity Lakes and recuperate at the Lakeview Inn, where he hopes to rediscover his purpose in life.
When Tabby and Logan find a property deed while cleaning out Gran’s rooms, Tabby embraces a new challenge—to solve the mystery of the floodplain and renovate the old boatshed. Working with Logan reignites long-suppressed feelings, but will their differences drive them apart?
An opposites-attract, friends-to-more, small town contemporary Christian romance.
Welcome to Trinity Lakes, a warm and welcoming small town in east Washington, filled with charm, family, and friends, where fresh starts, second chances, and romance abound. You’ll meet swoony bachelors, cowboys, and adventurers, sweet and sassy ladies, and your new best friends. This series of Christian romances will warm your heart, inspire your faith, and bring a smile to your soul.
Trinity Lakes Romance series can be read as standalone Christian contemporary romances. For a richer reading experience, and the opportunity to learn more about the characters who appear in multiple books, I’d recommend reading the series in order. I have never been a salmon fan. I love white meat fish like grouper or flounder. Iola Goulton is new to me as an author. I hope since she’s an empty nester she’ll have some more time to write. (Audrey S. USA)
Hi Audrey, Interestingly, we had takeaway (takeout) fish and chips for dinner tonight. Crumbed white fish is my favourite and I also love salmon. I’m looking forward to reading Iola’s upcoming Trinity Lakes book. 😊
Dinner sounds delicious! I am not a big apple juice drinker, I’d probably just have ice water.
I look forward to reading the series.
Hi Cindi, The salmon dinner would work for me. 😊
The parmesan risotto sounds really good and I love sparkling apple juice! -Kai B., USA
Hi Kai, yes, the risotto sounds amazing and sparkling apple juice is also a favourite in my family. 😊
The salmon meal sounds delicious! I’m looking forward to reading Iola’s new book. I loved reading her book reviews but have never read one of her books.
Hi Suzanne, I hope you’ll have a chance to read Iola’s books. If you’d like to be entered in Iola’s giveaway, please leave a comment and let me know your country or alternatively which Amazon store you can access for gift cards (USA or Australia). The salmon meal sounds divine. 😊
Oh my I love salmon so this meal sounds amazing! And Sparkling Apple juice yes! Sarah T. USA
Hi Sarah, agreed! We usually have pan fried salmon once a week with a side of veggies or salad — adding risotto would be amazing. 😊
I don’t like seafood. I love vegetables though!
Amelia S. USA
Hi Amelia, All the vegetables work for me. 😊
I have only had salmon once but I would be willing to give this meal a try. I would prefer a plain juice to a sparkling juice.
Carolyn F. USA
Hi Carolyn, I’d love to try it, too. 😊
Stunning cover. Thank you so much for the opportunity. God bless you. Debra P. USA.
Hi Debra, The cover is very relaxing and I could read a book in one of those chairs! 😊
Libby (cat) would love the salmon me (human) doesn’t. I am not a fish lover. I think I would rather go for a Fillet Mignon minus the topping and a lemon squash with no ice.
I really enjoyed this story. It’s also interesting how Logan went to America to College on a sporting scholarship. We had a guy from my town who went to College and I think it was Seattle for Tennis and My cousin’s daughter went to a College in Michigan I think it was for Lacrosse and was one of the top College lacrosse players. she now coaches for another college.
Hi Jenny, When we have salmon, Miss Daisy is right there with us wanting us to share! The same when we have fish and chips. Filet Mignon and lemon squash sounds good. College is so expensive and the scholarships make a big difference. 😊
While I can’t eat risotto anymore the rest sounds amazing!
I loved Logan and Tabby story, I think Iola perfect demonstrated the mess’s miscommunication can get us into. Madi S. Australia
Hi Madi, The salmon and veggies together would work for me. I loved Tabby and Logan’s story, too. I’m looking forward to reading Iola’s next book. 😊
I am not fond of salmon but would love that risotto. Sparkling apple juice is fine.
Hi Debra, Risotto and sparkling apple juice would work for me. 😊
Debby USA
I’d make the salmon chicken and just drink water (I’m a boring water girl!). But sounds lovely.
Hi Dienece, I intentionally make sure I drink water every day. Otherwise, I’d drink too much hot tea, lol. I do like lightly sparkling water with lime or passionfruit. Chicken risotto would work for me. 😊
I would eat the risotto and skip the salmon.
Hi Colleen, The risotto would work for me. 😊
That meals sounds yum! I haven’t had salmon much, but am trying to develop a taste for it and eat it more. I grew up eating fresh water fish like Bass from the southern part of the US. My dad was an Avid fisherman.
Haven’t read this book yet, but will soon as I am working my way through this series.
Hi Barbara, yes, I’d definitely order the salmon meal! Freshly caught fish is good, too. I’m glad to hear you’ll be reading Iola’s book soon. 😊
I’ve never been a seafood person, so I’ll probably just try the parmesan risotto. 😀
Elizabeth L., USA
Hi Elizabeth, Parmesan risotto would work for me. 😊
I like fresh salmon in a salad.
Mary P Australia
Hi Mary, yes, salmon is nice with salad. 😊
I love salmon but I rarely eat it because it is very expensive.
Hi Judith, yes, salmon is pricey. I usually buy Tasmanian salmon that’s locally sourced in Australia. 😊
Mmmm baked salmon, I love salmon! This post made me hungry!
I forgot to leave my name – Natalya L. USA (because I’m hungry lol)
Hi Natalya, lol. I love salmon, too. 😊
take the meal as is
BN
USA
That works 😊
I’m not a huge fish/seafood fan, and like a few others have mentioned would prefer a flakey white fish.
Patty R
USA
Hi Patty, I had white fish for dinner last night (crumbed fish and chips) from our local takeaway shop and it was delicious. 😊
It sounds pretty good,Bridgette S. USA.
Hi Bridgette, Yes, I’d order it for dinner. 😊
Salmon is not my favorite. I’m more of a steak type of person! The drink sounds good! As a night out, I would choose it but I drink ice water 99% of the time!
Katie R. USA
Hi Katie, Water is the healthiest drink and so refreshing. Lightly sparkling water with natural flavours eg. lime, passionfruit and no added sugar is my favourite in summer when I want something different to plain water. 😊
That meal sounds amazing! I bet the setting is beautiful too.
Heidi R.
USA
Hi Heidi, yes, it’s a winning combination. 😊
Since I’m not a fan of apple juice, I would ask for a cold glass of water to go with my salmon dinner! Stephanie H. USA
Hi Stephanie, water with the salmon dinner would work for me. 😊
I would love the meal just as it is. I love salmon! I would pair it with a glass of sangria instead of apple juice. Cherie J-USA
Hi Cherie, yes, that’s a nice combination. 😊
Cindi K
USA
😊
I’m not really a fish person but I do like salmon loaf. I like apple juice but I only drink milk with my meals.
Joannie S., U.S.A.
Hi Joannie, That sounds like a good alternative. 😊
