AUDREY WICK

Can you tell us a little about yourself, and can you tell us what genres you write?
I am Audrey Wick, a brand new Love Inspired author who just celebrated my first release with A Home for the Ranger, a Texas state park-set romance. I have written inspirational romance before as well as women’s fiction, both for smaller publishing houses. But this is my first Harlequin release, and what a joy it’s been! My day job is as a full-time professor of English at Blinn College. There, I teach writing and literature classes. But I always make time for being outdoors, and I wanted to bring that love into A Home for the Ranger, which gives armchair travelers a lot to enjoy as they “travel by book” to Texas!
How would you describe your writing process, and do you have a furry, feathered or other companion who helps?
I typically start writing on paper: notes, outlines, scraps of ideas . . . Those eventually become a story in my mind, and then I can turn my attention to the computer for drafting. I draft simply in a Word document: nothing fancy because I like to see the blank page. Then, the editing process is always fun for me because that’s where I really get the story to shine! My Harlequin editor has been a big help here, but over the years, I must also credit a couple of cats who have kept me company, particularly Moby Wick (named for Moby Dick, the white whale in Herman Melville’s famous novel) and my large male cat, Hemingway. Though both have sadly passed on, they enjoyed orbiting me as I sat and typed many books over the years.
What impact do you hope your book has on readers?
I want my writing to be uplifting to readers, and I hope that my recent story particularly delivers on Harlequin’s Love Inspired promise to provide hope and inspiration to audiences. Writing is such a gift, but it takes a reading audience to really enjoy it. I’m honored to be able to share my stories with the world, so thank you, readers, for participating in that process with me! I am grateful.
MEGAN SHORT

Can you tell us a little about yourself, and can you tell us what genres you write?
I’m an Australian author (born in New Zealand), and I live in Melbourne. My first book was published by Harlequin in 2025, by God’s grace. I write romantic suspense for Love Inspired Suspense.
How would you describe your writing process, and do you have a furry, feathered or other companion who helps?
My writing process is fairly structured–I’m a plotter. This is partly because of my personality, but also partly because of my training as a screenwriter. Before plotting, I have characters in mind, and spend a lot of time thinking about them and their flaws and what’s going to be the worst possible thing that can happen to them. Then I start outlining with either an excel spreadsheet or just the blank page and dot point the action beats. These come either from the character’s journey, or sometimes the location. Then I put together a really detailed synopsis and start writing from the beginning. The plot always changes by the end, but that’s just part of the process. My main companions are the Discord writers–whoever’s online at the time. It’s not easy being in Australia when it’s certain times of the year because of the timezone, but usually there will be someone online. There are some night owl regulars and a few with deadlines who need to burn the midnight oil!
What impact do you hope your book has on readers?
I write to encourage Christian readers and to evangelize to non-Christian readers. Because I am a new Christian, most of my friends and family are not Christian. So I do always have in mind that they will be reading these books and I always hope that seeds will be sown through that. But for Christian readers, I hope that God will use my stories to encourage and convict them. I’ve found that the creative arts, whether music or stories, have always connected with me as much as a good sermon, and I hope that is true for many readers.
Message for our readers
Thank you so much for supporting Love Inspired. In the US, the Love Inspired subgenres are the front runners in category romance, but that is not so in Australia. While we may feel like Australian romance readers are deaf to Christian fiction, by supporting and purchasing books from Big W or online, you’re shining a light with your wallet. Thank you, and God bless you!

SHAREE STOVER

Sharee holds a Bachelors of Science from Colorado Christian University, and her career background includes experience with Homeland Security, Urban Search & Rescue, FEMA, and several state and local emergency response agencies, bringing authentic realism and insider depth to her books. As the daughter of a Korean War bride, she draws on a rich heritage marked by perseverance, honor, and cultural strength—elements that infuse her writing with heart and purpose. She loves connecting with readers who crave suspense, mystery, hope, and romance woven into one unforgettable journey. Connect with her at www.shareestover.com.
How would you describe your writing process, and do you have a furry, feathered or other companion who helps?
I am a plotter to the max, so I always have a full synopsis written before I start my book and I write in layers, often getting down the barebones before going back over it to layer in details, emotions, etc.
My rescue German Shepherd, Maverick, is my daily companion and muse. He offers a listening ear and provides security detail while I work just in case any intruders like squirrels, bunnies, or birds try to infiltrate our compound. My grand-cat, Ash, is also a daily companion though he provides more judgment than assistance as per his nature. They often appear in my monthly newsletter to offer their thoughts, safety tips, and Maverick’s Mission Log.
What impact do you hope your book has on readers?
My tagline is Redeeming suspense because I try to show the redeeming love of God in every story.
