Book Recommendation – Operation Valentine by Elizabeth Maddrey

Book Description:

Once love is lost, can it be found?

When Annabelle Elliot returned his engagement ring six years ago, Rick Wentworth buried his broken heart in his job at Intelligence Associates, Inc. Returning from his overseas assignment, a newly awarded contract forces him into daily contact with her.

Working with Rick is a constant reminder of what Annabelle gave up when she let herself be persuaded to focus on a career instead of love. Now, she admits she made a mistake, but reconciliation seems impossible.

Can Annabelle find the courage to let Rick see her heart? And if she does, will he forgive her?

This sweet contemporary Christian romance novella, inspired by Jane Austen’s Persuasion, is a modern reminder that love is worth waiting for.

Narelle’s Thoughts:

I enjoyed reading Operation Valentine (Operation Romance Book 2) set in the D.C. Metro Area. Annabelle has set up a software development company and she primarily works from home. She reconnects with an old college friend, Tori, who is engaged to Gabe. Operation Mistletoe (Operation Romance Book 1) is Tori and Gabe’s romance story.

Rick is Gabe’s best friend and they work together at Intelligence Associates, Inc. Rick recently returned from Germany and has been staying at Gabe’s place. Gabe and Tori aren’t aware that Rick and Annabelle were once an item and were engaged at college. When Tori invites Annabelle to a dinner party at Gabe’s place, the awkward reunion for Rick and Annabelle reignites old feelings.

Annabelle picks up an IT contract from Gabe to work at his office, not knowing that Rick also works there. A fun reunion romance unfolds that includes a denial of feelings, a hilarious ski trip, and a sweet Valentines Day surprise. I recommend Operation Valentine to contemporary romance readers who like fun, faith-filled reunion romance novellas.
